Description
Objective: Promote Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) through education, systematization and dissemination of this type of initiative in Mexico, from an open network perspective and with a view to positioning this type of research in Mexico as a real alternative for knowledge generation.
It is proposed to organize the work of the Hub in axes: Education and Formative Proccesses, Systematization and Networking.
Each axis must be intrinsically related to the others, so that the work in the Hub can be articulated as a network that walks together and builds community processes.
Education and Formative Processes: it is intended to work with diverse groups, so that a community that works in terms of CBPR is formed; with community partners, academics, students and others who may be interested in the processes that take place in the Hub. In addition to recognizing the advantages that diverse groups offer from the pedagogical point of view, it also seeks to promote the organic bonding of the people who are part of the training processes, so that each one contributes from their context and particularities. Within the training axis, it is proposed to work with courses of different durations and means of teaching, depending on a first diagnosis that can be developed in the first quarter of 2021.
Systematization: the great work that exists in Mexico in methodologies and processes that could well be CBPR, but that have not necessarily been identified as such, is recognized. That is why it is proposed to work on the systematization of CBPR processes in order to publicize and identify meeting points with these similar processes.
Networking: we know that in order to consolidate a Hub it is necessary to publicize the work that is done, to be able to build bridges and increase the impact that as K4C we are having at a local, regional and international level; that is why the axis of linkage would be working on communicating what is being worked on, the projection that as a Hub we have and the initiatives to which the different communities and people can be added. This axis will also seek to consolidate strategic relationships so that we can add more people to this project.
In addition, in accordance with the values and methodologies of the CBPR, it would be sought that everything be worked from a perspective of local potentialities, in a horizontal and democratic way, favoring the governance of the processes facilitated by the communities..
