The 8th Cohort of the Mentor Training Programme started on September 28th, 2022 until February 22nd, 2023. This cohort saw the participation of 23 mentors from six countries including Burkina Faso, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Canada, and welcomed two new hub partnerships: the Burkina Faso hub led by 2iE (Institut International d’Ingénierie de l’Eau et de l’Environnement) and the Dayalbagh hub based in Agra, India. This cohort was co-facilitated by UNESCO Co-chairs, Dr. Budd Hall and Dr. Rajesh Tandon, together with Ms. Suriani Dzulkifli.

The face-to-face learning residency for the 8th cohort was combined with mentors from the 5 th, 6th and 7th cohorts. The residency was hosted by Mizan hub at the International Youth Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 30 to November 6, 2022. A total of 32 mentors from nine countries namely Burkina Faso, Canada, India, Indonesia, Italy, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, and South Africa participated in the face-to-face learning residency. Alongside UNESCO co-chairs, Dr. Budd Hall and Dr. Rajesh Tandon, the residency was joined by Ms. Suriani Dzulkifli (University of Victoria), Dr. Mahazan Abdul Talib (Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia), Ms. Nandita Bhatt (Martha Farrell Foundation) and Dr. Darlene Clover (University of Victoria) as facilitators.
